Mothers Day

Image
Today was pretty amazing! First, I woke up to breakfast in bed. French Toast made by Madison and Ayla, and yummy orange juice. They made breakfast in bed for Jayden too...Haha. When I say Madison and Ayla made it, they really did make it for me by themselves! Bill has been teaching them to cook and bake any chance he gets. Madison even made a YouTube video of her making French Toast by herself when she was 6. It's so cute! Check it out>>>>> Then they gave me presents!!! I love when the younger girls get me presents. It's always Lush bathbombs or handsoap from Bath & Body Works . They are my favorite gifts because this is what they get me for every single present worthy day :) Although at Christmas, I always hope for a Terry's chocolate orange as well. I'm pretty easy to get presents for...Haha. This Mother's day they actually gave me 2 bathbombs that they picked out themselves(after getting the girl at Lush to do a demo for them). They s...

Police Showcase at Mic Mac Mall

Image
Today was so much fun!! Bill and I took the girls to the mall so they they could shop for Mothers day, but we found so much more to do! On the bottom floor of the mall, they were hosting their annual Police Showcase. It was awesome! There was a member from every single law enforcement department, from Search & Rescue to Vehicle Inspection to Emergency Response Teams(ERT) and so on. When we walked up to the area the showcase was in, the girls were super excited!! For those who don't know already, Ayla has been telling us for the past 2 years, that she is going to "be a police". She absolutely LOVED being able to see all the different departments there were. She said her favorite so far is being a motorcycle cop. Madison and Ayla made sure we went to EVERY single booth! They have a pile of colouring books, pencils, pamphlets, magnets, etc. to prove it! The ERT guys had the bomb disarming robot pull the girls around in a wagon....Haha. It was p...

We found a new park!!

Image
We found an amazing park today! It kind of reminded me of back home. :( We were just driving around, trying to take advantage of the last few hours of warmth, after spending all day inside gardening. It was the coolest park. It had everything the girls love! Swings, slides, climbing structures and a road to drive their scooters on.    Here is Ayla having fun on the swings. It always starts out this way. Look at me! I am so sweet and innocent :) Doesn't she look sweet and friendly?....Haha Then when you least suspect it......She turns into a ninja and kicks you in the hip...Haha. She does this ninja thing every time you don't suspect a thing. And she thinks it is hilarious! The slide was so nice. There was no static at all!! I loved it. Madison and Bill played on it most of the time we were here. He pretty mush chased her up it like every 5 seconds :) Not annoying at all, Daddy!...Haha. See what I mean? Silly Daddy, you are supposed to go d...

Spring is here!!!.....well kinda :) **UPDATE AND GIVEAWAY

Image
It's here, It's here, It's here!! It was so warm today...for Nova Scotia spring....Haha. It was 17 degrees :) What better way to spend our first warm day, than inside gardening... Haha. That's right, we spent this beautiful warm day mostly indoors. :( On the plus side, we planted over 200 seeds! Wow! And that's not even half of what I plan to plant. We planted 29 different kinds of tomatoes, peas, beans, squash, watermelon, and others. The girls LOVE to help with absolutely anything we do! They have been waiting to garden since I bought my first seeds about a month ago! We found a great deal on 200 little plastic cups to start the seedlings. The best part is they are reusable until someone cracks them :) Yay, sparing the environment! They were the perfect size too. For the seedlings that need some extra time, we will move them up to a red solo cup before they go outside(will probably do this for the various squash and melons). This is the clean...

Hope For Wildlife

Image
It's Sunday!!!!!! You know what that means :) Time for another family day trip. Today we were invited by some friends to go to an awesome place called Hope For Wildlife. I can't believe we have never taken the time to come here. The kids had so much fun running from enclosure to enclosure to see what animals were being taken care of and best of all, IT'S FREE!! Hope For Wildlife is a rescue society for injured or abandoned animals. The people who work here are super friendly and knowledgeable about all the animals in their care. They do accept donations, but don't expect them. They sell a lot of items in their gift shop to raise money also. There is something for everyone, from a $1 chocolate to a $60 jacket, and more. It's a really fun place to take children under 12 for sure, but really, as an adult I loved it just as much as the kids did. Located in Seaforth/Head of Chezzetcook, NS, it is about a 35 minute drive from Cole Harbour or 40 mins from Dartm...
