Mothers Day

Today was pretty amazing! First, I woke up to breakfast in bed. French Toast made by Madison and Ayla, and yummy orange juice. They made breakfast in bed for Jayden too...Haha. When I say Madison and Ayla made it, they really did make it for me by themselves! Bill has been teaching them to cook and bake any chance he gets. Madison even made a YouTube video of her making French Toast by herself when she was 6. It's so cute! Check it out>>>>>

Then they gave me presents!!! I love when the younger girls get me presents. It's always Lush bathbombs or handsoap from Bath & Body Works. They are my favorite gifts because this is what they get me for every single present worthy day :) Although at Christmas, I always hope for a Terry's chocolate orange as well. I'm pretty easy to get presents for...Haha. This Mother's day they actually gave me 2 bathbombs that they picked out themselves(after getting the girl at Lush to do a demo for them). They smell delicious. I can't wait to have a nice hot bath. :) They also sang me the "Happy Mother's Day song" It's basically Happy Birthday, except they say they made it up....Hahahaha!

After breakfast we went to church. We missed sacrament meeting, but we made it for Primary. We taught our class about "The Prodigal Son". It was a great lesson about forgiveness. It was interesting to hear the girls discuss what kinds of things are easy to forgive and which ones aren't.

After church we went home, had lunch, and then met up with some friends to go for our Sunday day trip. :) This week we went to York Redoubt National Historic Site. It was super cool and the kids absolutely loved it! I am going to write a separate post about it, just in case people want to see a lot of pics. We spent about 2 hours just walking the grounds and checking out the cannons and buildings. There were quite a few dark and creepy buildings. They were awesome! Check it out. :)

On our way home, I knew something sneaky was going on. Amy kept texting and calling Bill. :) When we got home I realized that she was trying to sneak me a gift while she was all the way in BC. She had one of her good friends deliver it to our house and he set it all up on our doorstep so I would see it when we drove up. It was a great surprise.

And the day wasn't over! When we came into the house, Jayden was in the middle of making an amazing dinner! It was so good and it was such a great surprise! I mean look at it!! Even Ayla ate it! That's not an easy thing to do.....to feed Ayla.

The day ended with phone calls from Amy and Seth. That was a great end because this is the first Mother's day, that we weren't all together. I was worried that it just wouldn't feel the same. I loved it though. It really sucks when you get to the point of kids moving away from home. They made it so much better than I thought it could be. I think I can do this now....Haha.

Don't worry.....we also talked to our moms :) I know they would disown us if we forgot to call them.... Haha. Aren't they beautiful?!?!
