First Lacrosse Game

Jayden is #5 blue team winning the face-off

 Tonight was Jayden's first lacrosse game ever! We had to drive all the way to Bedford Arena for it. For those who don't live here, that's about a 40 minute drive from where we live. I'm glad she chose to play. I've missed watching games since Seth moved away and the girls got too cool for sports. :) I don't think I missed even a handful of any of the teens games since elementary school(they have played football, volleyball, soccer, track and field, cross-country). 

 I am so proud of how hard Jayden played tonight! Not only was it the first game, but a few players didn't show up tonight(school dance), so the girls basically played the entire game without much rest. They had 3 subs to start and then they were down to two. :(  They had a slow first period while everyone got the hang of playing against someone other than their teammates. The second and third periods they seemed to get comfortable and pick up their game. They ended up losing because of the first period, but it was great effort from them, especially as this was most of the girls' first game ever. Jayden ended up winning almost all of her face-offs. And even got a pretty good shot on goal. Hope I can make it to her next game. Good effort PA girls team.

I wish I took some pics of the PA boys game as well. Jayden's boyfriend Bruen is on that team. We walked in to see the game in overtime. They ended up losing 6-5 :( They won their game yesterday though, also in OT. I think the score was 5-4? I'm pretty sure most of those boys play hockey together too. I'm glad the girls didn't play as rough as the boys. I'd be worried about a broken Jayden....Haha.

 I also wish I had taken pics of Madison and Ayla. They looked like a couple of seasoned "rink rats'....Haha. Not interested in the game at all. Just wanted to climb all over the bleachers and run around. It was cute, and so so distracting :)

FRIDAY: Here we are at 1:22am. Yes you see that correctly. It says AM! So backstory: Every afternoon since Tuesday, Madison has been having severe eye, head, and ear pain. We had been treating her with ibuprofen thinking she may be sick. On Friday we figured there is probably something bigger going on, so we decided to take her to the IWK children's hospital. I left work an hour early, 5:00pm, and we grabbed some fast food(because we all know this is going to be a long visit). After getting through Halifax's rush hour traffic, it was 6:15 when we arrived at the hospital.  The Triage nurse checked her vitals, then gave her some ibuprofen. It took about 45 minutes to get put in a room, which is record time for the children's ER. It was pretty busy that night too. The girls ate some of their dinner while we waited to be seen. Building our backyard :)

It's been a while........ When we bought our house last year, we were left with little(no) money and little time. The yard was definitely not on our to-do list yet. We built some veggie gardens, but nothing really fun for the girls or for us to relax(although we did build them a small sandbox). This year we had slightly bigger plans :) I mean, we still have no money...Haha, but we didn't want this summer to be boring. It's a bit blurry, not sure why? It wasn't blurry on my phone. This was our first project(after gardening of course.....I have an update on that as well). The girls have never really had a fun yard(since our trampoline in Nanaimo, but Madison was only 3 when we moved). They definitely needed their first swing set. I built it while Bill was at work. I was pretty proud of myself. I got most of the frame built with these little beauties right here before i got so annoyed by the pain they were causing my hands!!! I would do anything possible to help my kids! And I mean ANYTHING! So when someone does something to make me worry about my kids, they are gonna hear about it from me. Last night was one of those nights! Seth took a trip to California/Utah/Idaho for a few weeks so he could be there for the July 4th celebrations. He has a lot of friends down there from school, so we are never very worried when he goes(except when we hear about the earthquakes in California). For some reason he would love to just move there...Haha. Whenever he goes back to BC though, he has to travel through Vancouver. I always worry about him when he is traveling in Vancouver alone. What makes it worse is when he is travelling at night. Last night was one of the worst trips yet. Just so you know how his day started, he was staying in Idaho, so it was a 3 hour drive to Utah for his flight. He left from Salt Lake City at 1:35 pm and since this was an international flight he had to be there extra early. 2 hours ear...
