Meet the Roses

Our first Home!! Better late than never, right?

Bill(William)-Here you have one of the best husbands and fathers anyone could ask for. He is dedicated, fun, annoying(in a fun way), loving, respectful, understanding, smart, great at baking, and just plain Awesome! He excels at everything he sets out to do. Somehow, with all the hours he works, he still manages to help keep the house in order, cook great meals before I get home from work, and have the energy to always keep the younger girls entertained! I don't know what I would do without him. I struck gold :) We first met in Jr High in British Columbia and now we are married and raising 6 beautiful children in Nova Scotia. One son and 5 daughters! Those poor guys. At least they have each other! :)

Madison-"The best dad in the whole wide world!!"
Ayla-"He works so hard and that's why I love him!"

Melissa-How do you talk about yourself...Haha. I am a mom, a wife, a sister, a daughter. I work, so that my husband isn't the only one trying to make our lives better. Although I work with kids, so that's kind of cheating. It's not really like work...Haha! :) I wanted to start writing this blog, because I believe we have a lot to offer in terms of family time, great recipes, family highs and lows, travel experiences, etc. And even if no one but family were to read them, I have a record of all these memories :) My hobbies are scrapbooking, sewing(i'm just a beginner though), travelling, photography, crafts and probably lots more...Haha.

Madison-"She is beautiful and she is the best mom ever!!"
Ayla-"She is the best mommy anyone could ever ask for!"

Seth- This is our oldest child( and only son!! He is a best friend to everyone, helpful, caring, stubborn(like his mama....haha), sporty, fun, a jokester and an awesome son and brother. He is away at University in the states right now, so we miss him a ton, but he has made a ton of friends there(I don't think we will ever get him back...haha). He has found a new love recently with vlogging on YouTube. He definitely shows that he has some great friends and they have a lot of fun together. Check him out, it's very entertaining! Madison-"He is the best brother I could ever have and he lets me play Fortnite."
Ayla-"He is the best brother anybody could ask for, and I wish he was here right now."

Amerynth(Amy)-This is our oldest daughter. She is an amazing young woman. She is caring, thoughtful, fun, loving, stubborn(also like her mama), beautiful, and a great big sister to Madison and Ayla. She is one of those people you can sit and have a conversation with, and she just keeps it real and says what's on her mind. She will tell you when you are "in the wrong". She has recently moved to British Columbia and is starting a new chapter in her life.

Madison-"I love her. One reason is because she brought us home shell turtles from Bermuda!"
Ayla-"I love her because she is my sister! And because she brought me home something really special for my birthday. A purse with pink nail polish!!"

Jayden-Our third child, and only teenager left living at home. She is smart, funny, loving(most of the time.....she is a teenager....Haha), beautiful, fun, so super stubborn(she is all her siblings combined), and an awesome daughter. She is sporty, girly, one of the guys(a bro as she calls it), and can make friends with pretty much whoever she wants to be friends with. She has just acquired a new love for Lacrosse. I can't wait to watch her play!

Madison- "She's an awesome sister!!!!!!!"
Ayla- "Because she let's us have movie nights and gives us chips" :)
Madison-"and she let's us stay up late to finish them!!"

Madison-One of our two little miracle babies. Madison came into this world so small and delicate. She is still small, but tough as nails :) Her beginning was one of the scariest things I have ever had to go through. Thank goodness for great NICU staff in that hospital. She was born at 3lbs 7oz and just 13inches long. I have never seen a baby that small or fragile. Now she is so strong and outgoing. She is sweet, caring, thoughtful, helpful, stubborn/strong willed(are you sensing a pattern....haha), sensitive, and Ayla's best friend. She is also a ball full of energy. This girl never stops going! If she ever stops talking or telling us stories, we would all be worried. Loves baking and making YouTube videos.

Ayla-"She is a good sister and I love her because she plays with me and she is a good sister and is nice to me."

Ayla-Our last baby, and the absolute sweetest girl you will ever meet. Her start to life was also pretty rough. I won't go into details, because that is by far the scariest thing I have ever had to go through. She was worth every second of it though. This girl surprises me literally every day. Also, she is the only one that will not be labelled as stubborn!!! She would do absolutely anything to make people laugh or smile. She loves cuddles and hates tickles...Haha. She also loves baking and making YouTube videos. She is so imaginative! 99% of her day is playing make-believe or acting out her favorite toys/characters.

Madison-"I love the presents she gives me. I love her" (The presents are usually drawings or clay creations)

Baylee-This is our "puppy". Born on April 13, 2018. She is the craziest, sweetest, most frustrating Houdini ever. The kids love her, but having a dog for a pet is WAY harder than having kids. Who knew it would be so much work. Her training is coming along though. I wouldn't expect our pets to be any less stubborn than our kids I guess...Haha. She loves walks, LOVES snow, loves other dogs, and is obsessed with our kids.

Madison-"Baylee is the best dog I could ever have and see. I love Baylee".
Ayla-She is the best dog I could ever have, and she is so cute and she's so cute and she's so cute!".

*I asked Madison and Ayla what they would say about each of our family members. They answered for themselves and I typed it word for word. I honestly expected them to be a little more harsh on some comments, because siblings argue a lot, but it goes to show you that love for your family is easier remembered than arguments. Proud mommy moment!! :)
