Peggy's Cove
There is no better way to start a day off! We woke up late, remembered there was no church today, and decided to take a road trip :) After 10 minutes of packing up snacks and warm clothes, we set off. Yes, we always plan that far ahead. Haha. Ask our family :)
We always try to keep things fun in the car, so that boredom doesn't kick in. Unfortunately this time we forgot :( Bill and I were having our own conversation, and as they always seem to find something to disagree on, Madison and Ayla started arguing. Most parents, I think, start off pretty calm, right? We tried that. It didn't work. It wasn't even something big(to us). The traffic in Halifax was crazy..... they were arguing.... we took our thoughts off the destination for a minute, and......missed our exit. Haha. The next exit was 5-7 minutes up the road. We explained to the girls how dangerous it could be to the driver, for them to argue in the car. Especially if the driver was the only adult who could help them work things out. We talked to them about how their argument made us miss our exit and now we would have to backtrack.
We decided to do what we should've done in the first place, roadtrip games :) Our favorite one lately is the car colour game(I don't think we have a name for it yet). You name a colour, and the first one to find that colour of vehicle gets to pick the next colour. It's kind of like "I Spy". The funny thing is that when you play with our girls, their favorite colours are pink and purple. Do you know how many pink or purple cars there are in the Halifax area? Probably about 1 in 1,000. And that is being generous. Needless to say, we had a lot of downtime.
A little more than an hour later, we had arrived. YAY! If you have never been out to Peggy's Cove, it's basically a rocky coastline, with a lighthouse and AWESOME waves! I could sit there and watch them all day! And our girls LOVE "rock climbing" and hiding in "caves".

deaths have occurred here" and "Caution- watch for rouge waves. They can happen at any time". And they are very true.

We ended our trip with a really yummy dinner. We never really get
a chance to eat out at restaurants often so this was a real treat :) We stopped
at Dhaba in Halifax. They serve Indian cuisine.....mmmm! It was some of the
best I've ever tasted......and Ayla even ate some of it. She is the pickiest
eater in the world right now!
Bill has been learning Hindi, so he thought it
would be cute if one of them said thank you to the ladies who served us, in
Hindi. Ayla walked straight up to the lady and said "dhanyavaad". The
lady thought she was so cute. She giggled and was like "AWWW, you're
welcome". It was great! Ayla is definitely not our shy daughter!
When we got back home, we talked Jayden(wish she had come with us) into putting the girls to
bed for us and we went on a hot tub date at Cole Harbour Place :) Can't complain
about a little kid-free time. The best part.... playing in the kiddie pool without
being splashed. Haha. Quite a few other adults had the same idea.
Best roadtrip/family time ever....Until the next one :)
You sound like a wonderful fun family., love you guys
